A tasting with a lot of information about the influence of the different types of peat
on the distillation and maturation process of these wonderful whiskies.
ppm: parts per million
1 p.p.m. = 1 part phenols in 1 million parts of whisky.
At 10 to 25 p.p.m. we speak of a lightly peated whisky, 25 to 40 p.p.m. is normally peated whisky and from 40 p.p.m. one can speak of heavily peated whisky.
